Le secrétariat de la CCAMLR coordonne la mise en œuvre du système d'observateurs par le biais d'un réseau des coordinateurs techniques nationaux des pays membres de la CCAMLR.
Les coordinateurs techniques sont chargés de fournir des informations sur les placements de tous les observateurs et de garantir que les données et les échantillons qui sont collectés lors de ces mission sont bien transmis par l'observateur au secrétariat.
